Don't be fooled by the lame-looking restaurant area at street-level.

Pivnice U Karla IV

T
he real action is downstairs in the cellar pub area that houses two rooms with the usual stony walls and long wooden tables you'd come to expect in a Czech cellar outlet.

As with U Sudu, at Pivnice U Karla IV (Pub of Charles the Fourth) you get the young Czechs here as well, on the rowdy side if you're unlucky. On the brighter side, the Pub of Charles the Fourth is also a pizza joint. The menu offers quite a variety of 'zas that start from Kc 99.

A good complement to the Tuborg or Krusovice (10° and 12°) beer which is available there, both light and dark. Pivo prices are pretty okay; between Kc 19,90 to Kc 23,90 for the varying Krusovice beers (although I can't for the life of me understand why they don't round up these numbers).
