Get to know the smiling ladies who entice you to drink Jim Beam when you're hitting clubs and bars 'round town...

Jim Beam party crew,

Y
ou will definitely have seen these girls around if you're at the clubs as much as I am, looking around and hoping to hit up some single person. Wait, that didn't sound very flattering.

Anyway, these gorgeous ladies wear cowboy hats and thigh-high boots, and go around to invite you to do whiskey shots, which they feed to you. Sounds like the event to complete your night. Think gets up close and drunk with a couple of these cool, or more accurately, flaming HOT Jim Beam girls, Michelle, Sam and their manager, Ashlea!

BarmanGuide: What exactly do you do?

Michelle: We are the Jim Beam party crew, so we go around to different bars, and promote and sell Jim Beam drinks! It's a very unique job, because we get to meet all kinds of people at the coolest hang-outs in Singapore.

BarmanGuide: Do you get picked up? Have you had any indecent proposals before?

Sam: Yes! Once I had this customer whom I was speaking to, and he said "I'll rather buy you than the drink." That's such a cheap line!

BarmanGuide: Do you have customers asking for your numbers when you ask them to buy drinks?

Michelle: Yep, sometimes some of the guys do! And sometimes, we give it to them. If not, we just tell them we're not supposed to do so because we're working.

BarmanGuide: What kind of problems do you often encounter?

Sam: Difficult customers. Getting harassed by them.

Michelle: Sometimes they don't want to pay, or they refuse to let you go, and sometimes they are a bit touchy. We have to make our way through the club, so it can be a problem sometimes.

Sam: Sometimes we have to drink with them too. So we have to be able to hold our liquor well, or else we might get into situations we can't handle.

BarmanGuide: Where have you been to before?

Sam: We've been to several other clubs all over Singapore. We have to go all around Singapore, and will be going to Thailand soon to promote Jim Beam.

BarmanGuide: Where's the most interesting place you've served Jim Beam?

Michelle:We went to Zouk in October, so I think that was interesting, cos it's so much bigger than most of the other clubs we've been to.

BarmanGuide: What do you pretty girls do when you aren't working as Jim Beam party crew?

Michelle: We party! Sometimes at dbl0, or Liquid Room. It really depends on the mood.

BarmanGuide: Do you have any training that you need to go through?

Ashlea: The girls need to learn how to be friendly, how to approach customers, and sometimes also who to approach, because it's not too good an idea to approach customers when they are drunk. Also, they learn how to get away if customers are harassing them.

BarmanGuide: What do you do when you see a cute guy at the club?

Sam: We go up to them, give the best smile we can, ask him to buy a drink, and then maybe, we get his number! (giggling)

BarmanGuide: One last question, what is your favourite drink?

Michelle: Jim Beam Lust! It's a shot of Jim Beam, with lychee liquor, pineapple juice and ribena, and it's absolutely yummy!

So now that you know these girls are the Jim Beam crew, be sure to go up and say hi, and grab shot with them! It's one more good reason to go out and club, and who knows, they might just ask for your number that night!

Friends of Jack Across Asia

T
he family-owned company behind Jack Daniel's doesn't think their drink is getting enough love in Southeast Asia.

Hence the big bash they sponsored last month at Chijmes and the recent launch of the "Friends of Jack Across Asia" program.

What's it all about? A "Friends of Jack" card gives you discounts at duty-free shops and select venues throughout the region, as well as buddy access to Jack Daniel's parties and promotional events. For more information, see jackdaniels.com. And remember, if you see the piano player hit the floor, duck.
