Frontallabs.com

N
ot wanting to toot our own horn (too loudly and outta sync), Thinkscene.com celebrates ten years of the Think brand on the web this fall. While not exactly a forum, if you're looking up the names of your favourite places and subjects on Google, odds are you'll find the Think sites high on the first pages. Now the venues and music articles are located on Gashaus.com, and with thousands of reviews and articles on music, arts, bars, clubs, personalities and more, you'll see why Think comes out on top. Don't believe me? Try googling "Did Jesus smoke pot?" and see for yourself...

Ease of use: The site is so easy to use. Register, and add your event or venue. Sharing has never been easier!

Unique features: Covers multiple cities around the world known for their active cultural lifestyles.

Who goes there: Travellers, locals, people wanting to know what's going on in their city destination.

Frontallabs.com

I
t is more suited for a specific scene particularly the drum and bass crowd and avant-garde group. Or even artists and could appeal to the expatriate community as well.

Ease of use: Frontallabs.com comes in a forum format and it is pretty easy to use when everything is sectioned off into one heading.

Unique features: A great site to check out new up and coming DJs or even the more popular ones spinning across town. Most definitely a good way to touch base with the rest of those who enjoy the same music and lifestyle. Check out the other discussions in the forums.

Who goes there: Indie, drum and bass crowd. DJs looking for a chance to break onto the scene.

SOFT.com.sg

S
OFT is the largest online directory / portal for musicians and fans of live music in Singapore. From festivals like Baybeats to the upcoming INXS concert, this is the place to find out about the happenings in the local live scene. Whether you are a budding indie musician shopping for a new guitar or a jaded rocker looking for a new bass player, this is it.

Ease of use: Based largely on the PHBbb template, the site's primary function is that of an internet forum. Read, register, post and interact with other musicos.

Unique features: SOFT hosts, covers and even provides special concessions for their members with live music events. Perhaps the ultimate resource for networking in the scene.

Who goes there: Crowdsurfers, Rockstars and people who just like their music live.

Hotspots.com

T
he granddaddy of party websites, Hotspots.com is a legend amongst us and we'd be considered in the dark if we don't already know this site exists. There is just so much to read on Hotspots.com, you'd overnight on it if you tried!

Ease of use: You'll have trouble which link to click on first because there's just too many to read. The best bet is to surf onto the sister link, Afterdark.

Unique features: Attention grabbing surveys and articles on sex issues. Who wouldn't want to partake on a survey that screams, 'Youthful and Sassy Minxes in the Night Survey'? And not forgetting the Afterdark section has highlights on drink specials for the whole week. Who could complain about that?

Who goes there: Young executives, avant garde party-goers, free-loaders addicted to happy hours.
