Supperclub Singapore

If there's one thing for sure about Supperclub, it's that you're in for a totally unique dining experience.

So if you're the conventional type, looking to hide in the corner and enjoy a quiet dinner, this is definitely not the place for you.

Greeted by Mistevious at the door with her (his) vampy (trampy) outfit, complete with headgear that would put Carmen Miranda to shame, we began our ascent to the bar with anticipation, wondering who would be accosting us next.

In contrast to the stark white supperclub Singapore, bathed in UV lighting, the adjoining bar is sexy in black and red and starts off as a great place to unwind, sip some wine and build up an appetite.

Don't come here starving though as, true to it's name, supperclub stretches dinner all the way to supper and beyond, tantalizing you with small and tasty morsels over a period of two or three hours, while you get slowly and steadily inebriated and more and more amused by the “performance art" that happens periodically in the middle of the bar.

From a smartly dressed man with big twirly balls (don't ask) to a man who stole everyone’s shoes and created a bonfire-like structure in the middle of the room (thoroughly vexing the girls who needed to visit the toilet) to the totally lovable and camp as a row of tents, Mistevious, who danced around cabaret-style, miming to the songs and who no doubt confused some male patrons with his faux-feminine sexiness.

After that many wines the eyesight tends to go a bit...

Beginning with a wrap, then an interesting, cold cucumber soup concoction, some delicious fish with asparagus and potato and a dessert that is enough to convince you that you really don't need to go home and raid the fridge, supperclub is unusual, sometimes bizarre, often interesting and very sociable. A great night out if you're the experimental type. Keep an open mind!
