Put on your imported bikini for an imported concept bar...

Being a fan of KM8 (mostly thanks to DJ Diamond) on Tanjong beach, I was inclined to check out what this new establishment has to offer. Like the iconic bar that resides in San Antonio, Ibiza, Cafe Del mar, I encountered sexy chill out tunes and an overall hipster vibe...

As expected after witnessing the Cannery Launch in Clarke Quay, the hospitality company Directions did provide a yield of no less than 500 curious industry players and media elements alike.

What piqued me before arriving at Siloso beach was the possibility of live bands playing above the pool on a mobile platform to bikini / board short-clad revellers; There's a beach-hut style DJ console that overlooked the 8 meter-long dipping pool and the ceiling of the venue itself was utilised as a service area for stargazing guests.

I spent most of the launch nursing a Heineken on one of many deck chairs paired on the sand and there were four-poster beds that could be closed with white linen for that extra touch of privacy.

Despite making the effort to bring those embarrassing Board shorts emblazoned with flowers, I did not attempt the comfortable-looking Jacuzzi - which might have been poorly placed on the side of the venue near to the toilets.

Perhaps the laid back style might not be the only thing to arrive with the materialisation of this haute venue. Another thing to look forward to is the seafood-centric menu with tapas and degustation feasts that can be washed down with their own sangrias, margaritas and caipirinhas.

Delightful indulgence. A place to definitely check out.
